Woke up somewhere near Ayr on Sunday morning to find out we had smuggled a guy into the country on the bus! And apparenly we had been on a ferry as well, news to me.
Arrived at T late morning to find out we had 6 hours of interviews to do, nice. Although can't really complain cause the last one consisted of a jam sesh with none other than Mr Pete Townsend.
Your better off askin' someone else how it went cause I'm still in shock although we did play hippy an cigarello! Trust me there's no better sight than seein' your idol windmill the opening chords to cigarello b4 your very eyes! I could retire a happy man.
Rumors were spreading the tent was rammed, people couldnt get in, they had shut the doors ( do tents have doors? flaps ! whatever!)
I just can't describe the feeling walking on to that stage, it was indeed rammed to the hilt, big fuckin huge beachballs appeared from sumwhere ! Arms raised everybody singing, a heavy moshpit, and countless hats and t shirts and a set of curling tongs lobbed on the stage!
Although I did however think I'd been JFK'd at one point when a flying t-shirt wrapped round my mic stand and crashed it over behind me!
I know every band gives it " T in the park crowd is the best in the world blah blah" but take it from me that crowd were 100% unforgettable, it really doesn't get any better than that.
So it was quite a weekend has to be said! It aint every day u get to play on the same bill as your favourite band, jam with your idols and play to the best crowd in the world!
Who knows next year we might be headling the main stage or selling burgers but I'll never forget that 35 minutes as long as I live, cheers! x
