The Who

There's a lot to be said for success, you get too used to being the headline band, you start to think, why's this crowd not going crazy, chucking beer over each other or chanting "do roo roops" before, during and after every song.

So walking onstage at the Roundhouse to support your favourite band without the support you're used to is a very daunting task. It's like going back to begining, except this time your being judged by fans of a band who wrote the rule book on rock n' roll.

Arriving at the venue my mind was set as ease as we wandered in to catch the Who in mid soundcheck, running through songs from the new album, complaining about monitors (nice to know its not just us!) and to my supprise "who are you" or to any nuggets out there, the theme from CSI!

You get certain moments during all this madness where reality catches you up and it hits you what you're actually doing. Standing in an almost empty room with some of my closest friends watching the Who soundchecking is one of those beautiful moments.

Part of the whole proms thing is to do something diffrent, unfortunately we didn't have the time to rehearse with a string section or anything, so we plumped for a Who cover, The Seeker. We decided to get it out the way and open with it and I understand it got the thumbs up from Mr Daltrey so we couldnt have fucked it up that much!

We knew it was always going to be a hard crowd to please, on the night we felt as if we could have played better, but looking back I think we pulled it off but if you think we didn't then fuck you, I supported The Who, have you? :-)

I want to thank Pete Townsend for taking the time to chat to us again, lets face it he doesn't have to! I also want to thank big Andy, Andy jnr, Peter and James for being there for me, cheers!

good times
