RE: Some Velvet Morning

evening

so kind of in order here are some answers!

I met Ross through Stuart Mcredie who co produced the album with me, through Ross i met Lewis who had done some work with him before and through Lewis we met the Velvet Horns.

I'm gonna get on the equipment blog!

At this point the band are desperate to play, so desperate to play that we'd come and play in your front room so in stores, out stores and and super stores would be no problem.

pre gig rituals - nothing in particularl, couple of drinks, a double espresso and a play of the guitar, as for the other's i've noticed more than the odd shout of "We're really doing it!"

There's something really combative about playing to people that have never heard anything you've done before, be it Giant's stadium or a club in Oldham, it's what makes a band feel alive.

Even though we've only played three shows i've really loved having Lou there to share the blame, i hadn't given it much thought until we were onstage in Glasgow, i realised pretty quickly that it was going to work for me.

Tony Hoffer mixed the album. I produced it with a friend of mine and a great engineer called Stuart McCredie. Handing it over to some one completely was never going to be an option but i really appreciated having someone there to question the odd bad idea and help make the good ones possible.

Influence wise to be honest i haven't moved on much in the last while,i just wanted to make a record that had a lot of moving parts in a short space of time. Writing wise i also wanted to work in a completely different way than i'd done before. No one can discount the influence of the great rock n roll stars in the way we make music today

How much has been spent on suits? £3.56

You can't start a band and write music when you feel under pressure, everyone has a particular way they like there toast in the morning, everyone's got there own standards, writing songs is pretty similar, some things you'll accept, somethings you won't.

The bands name was originally Codeine Breakfast Club for reasons i forget, we changed it to Velvet after watching 'Blue Velvet" again and feeling like "velvet" tasted better than "Breakfast"

I've got no idea which strings we use, i'll find out for you

the t i shirts i've also no idea, they're sitting in my cupboard though, give me your address and i'll send you them

the last gig i went to was Bruce Springsteen at Hampden Park

I've no idea if i'm playing the guitar any better, to be honest i'm just enjoying having the space to play, there's a lot of space in what what we're doing to add some colour,i've also done the decent thing and accepted that stratocasters can do just about anything you want them to

It depends (usually on the weather!)

We'll play anywhere, big/small, fat/thin but who doesn't enjoy some space!

i clutch at imaginary straws

if i've missed anything give me a prod
